Habitat

Mostly found in a variety of open habitats near the ocean or lakes and rivers. In cities and towns, they can be found near docks, parks, and garbage dumps. They sometimes mix with American Crows when feeding and roosting.

Range

Only found in the U.S. in North America. They are common year-round residents along the eastern coast from the Gulf states to Maine. In some states they are found further inland along fresh waterways. In recent decades, its range has extended farther inland including far up the Mississippi Valley.
