The Hopi name for Sage Thrashers is ma-chete’che-e. These birds are amazing singers and can sing for a long time. One male was documented singing for over twenty-two minutes without taking a break! Unfortunately, their sagebrush habitat is being impacted by invasive plants, grazing, and development.
