Did you know?

Red-breasted Nuthatches nest in holes in trees. They line the edges of these holes with bits of resin they source from conifers. It is thought they use the resin to keep out predators or other birds who might want to use their nesting spot. These tiny, quick nuthatches avoid getting caught in the resin by artfully diving straight into the nest hole.
