In some areas of the tropics, swarms of hunting army ants send nearly all critters in their path fleeing. However, some opportunistic birds, such as the Olive Sparrow, take advantage of the upheaval by flying behind the ants and picking up insects that manage to escape being caught by the tiny but ferocious pincered predators.
