Habitat

They favor large oak, coniferous, and mixed mountain and seaside forests but in some areas can be found in riparian corridors and in chaparral.

Range

Found year-round in fragmented areas from southern British Columbia in Canada through western states of the United States and into central Mexico.

Hutton’s Vireos closely resemble Ruby-crowned Kinglets but whereas the Kinglet is found across much of North America, the slightly bigger Hutton’s Vireo has a much more limited range and is only found in western North America and interior areas of Mexico.
